This policy explains what data CineTalk collects, how we use it and what your rights are. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what's needed to operate the platform.

1. Data we collect

Account data (social login/OAuth): when you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive basic profile data such as your name, email and photo.
Content you create: comments, ratings, lists (CineLists), favorites, episode progress and other interactions.
Usage data: technical and browsing information (pages visited, device/browser type), collected in aggregate to understand and improve the service.

2. Cookies

We use essential and analytics cookies:

Essential (authentication): cookies like cntlk_at and cntlk_exp keep you logged in and manage your session. Without them, the platform doesn't work.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4): when enabled, we use GA4 cookies to understand usage in an aggregate, anonymous way. This data helps us prioritize improvements.

3. How we use your data

Operate and maintain your account and your interactions;
Personalize your experience (recommendations, progress, new-episode notifications);
Understand platform usage and improve features;
Ensure security and prevent abuse.

4. Sharing

We don't sell your data. We share only with providers that make the service possible — for example, social login providers and Google Analytics — and only as needed for their functions. Content you post is, by nature, visible to other users.

5. Your rights (LGPD)

Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you may request access, correction, portability or deletion of your data, as well as withdraw consents. To exercise these rights, reach out via the contact page.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active or as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data, except where the law requires retention.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be flagged on the platform.
